St. Mary's Medical Center is located at 3700 Washington Avenue in Evansville, Indiana.  The main telephone number is (812) 485-4000.  Patients may receive calls from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

For questions about billing or a patient account, please call (812) 485-4393 and someone will be happy to assist you.

For local calls outside the hospital dial "9" and then the number.

TDD machines are available for the deaf and hearing impaired through the Switchboard operator.  Please dial "0" to contact the switchboard operator.

Newspaper:

Newspaper vending machines are located in the Emergency Department lobby, at the Washington Avenue entrance of the hospital, at the entrance of the Hospital for Women and Children and at the entrance of the Rehab Institute.

ATM and Bill changing:

An ATM machine is located in the canteen area just outside the cafeteria on the second floor, and in the lobby of the Medical Office Building West.

A bill-changing machine is located in the vending area located just off the Garden Cafe.

Lost and Found:

Patients and Visitors are encouraged to leave all valuables at home.  Lost and Found is located in the Security Office in the Emergency Room hallway.

Security:

Security officers are available by dialing (812) 485-4357 (or extension 4357 from inside the hospital).  You may also dial the switchboard "0" to have a security officer paged.  Please help ensure the safety of our patients, visitors and employees and do not bring to any St. Mary's campus contraband including but not limited to illegal drugs, alcohol, weapons, and other objects carried for the purpose of injuring and/or intimidating others.  This policy is stricly enforced.

Please do not bring valuables to the hospital.  If you should lose something, report it to the staff and they will help you recover the item.  However, in the event the item is not recovered, the hospital will be unable to accept responsibility for the lost item.

St. Mary's has a Professional Dress policy to enable patients to identify healthcare workers.  Uniform colors by job classification are:

United States Mail:

Mail and flowers will be delivered to the patient room by St. Mary's volunteers.  Outgoing mail can be given to a nurse or a St. Mary's volunteer.  For your convenience, there is a US Postal Service mailbox located just outside the medical center entrance that faces Washington Avenue. Any mail received by St. Mary's after your discharge will be forwarded to your home address.

Pet Visitation:

To lift the spirits of our patients and visitors, St. Mary's offers a pet visitation program.  If you would like one of our trained and certified canine volunteers to visit with you, please contact our Volunteer Services Department at 485-4260.

Library Services:

The Herman A. Baker Memorial LIbrary, located on the lower level of St. Mary's Medical Center, is a valuable resource for up-to-date medical information.  Some patients and their families use the journals and periodicals to better understand an illness or injury.  Informative medical databases are available through the internet.  Library hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Notary Public:

Notary Public services are available to patients free of charge.  If you require a notary public, ask your nurse to contact one.
